In exploring the world of martial arts, it's interesting to note that America has also made its mark. Contrary to popular belief, America has its own native martial arts, with the most notable one being American Kenpo. Developed by Ed Parker in the mid-20th century, it blends elements from various martial arts styles, and is both defensive and offensive. Other American martial arts include the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and Catch Wrestling, a grappling style popular in the early 20th century. So, America isn't just a melting pot of cultures, but also of martial arts!
